Cardano adds 5.6% in a day but stays 93% below its record
ADA's move back above 20 cents came on a wide intraday range and volume worth about a tenth of its market cap.
What happened
Cardano's ADA token traded at $0.200915, up 5.6% over 24 hours. The move put the asset's market capitalisation at roughly $7.50bn on turnover of about $746m in the same period.
The day's range was unusually wide relative to the net change. ADA traded as low as $0.186539 and as high as $0.210966, a spread of about 13% between the extremes. The closing level sits closer to the top of that band than the bottom, but below the high — meaning the token gave back part of its intraday gain before the snapshot was taken.
Reading the numbers
A 5.6% daily move is meaningful for a token of this size, but the volume figure gives it context. At $746m against a $7.50bn cap, roughly 10% of ADA's market value changed hands in 24 hours. That is a reasonably active session rather than a thin one, which makes the move harder to attribute to a single illiquid pocket of the order book.
The longer view is less flattering. ADA remains 93.49% below its all-time high of $3.09. Recovering that level would require a move of well over an order of magnitude from current prices. For traders who use round numbers as reference points, the day's significance is the reclaim of the $0.20 handle — ADA finished above it, having spent part of the session more than 7% underneath.
Why it matters for market watchers
For anyone tracking crypto pricing on prediction markets or exchange order books, the useful detail here is the gap between the intraday high and the settle. Contracts and positions keyed to specific thresholds — $0.20, $0.21 — would have resolved very differently depending on the exact timing within the window. A 13% intraday range on a mid-cap major is the kind of volatility that makes short-dated threshold pricing sensitive to reference-time conventions.
No further data on the drivers of the move is available in the figures above.
